Frequently Asked Questions
Firstly, it does not emit VOCs, which forms ground-level O3 and affect human health.
Secondly, it is water-based and thus less likely to contaminate both land and water compared to solvent-based (i.e., oil) materials.
Lastly, it is air-dried naturally and does not require firing like in pottery which utilises a lot of energy.
In our opinion, the texture closely resembles porcelain or polished concrete.
To maintain its surface, avoid both harsh cleaning products and scrubbing vigourously. Simply, wipe it down with a damp cloth!
They are air bubbles! As each piece is carefully handcrafted, it is natural for such details to exist.

Materials
Our primary material is Jesmonite, an eco-friendly composite material. We also upcycle plastic, aluminium, food and horticultural wastes by incorporating them into our designs. We are also exploring shell-food wastes.
Production
All pieces are slow-made, meaning that they are ethically produced locally with minimization of carbon footprint in mind.
Additionally, all unused Jesmonite materials are reused into our production cycle as terrazzo flakes, generating a cradle-to-cradle, closed-loop production process.
*Psst, cradle-to-cradle suggests that waste materials are reincorporated as inputs for production, resulting in a cyclically material flow.
Cradle-To-Grave Approach
We assume responsibility for the full life cycle of our pieces where we offer recollection and upcycling services which is further elaborated under 'Services'.
*Psst, cradle-to-grave suggests the entire lifespan of a product, up till the point of disposal.
At the end-of-life of your piece, we would love to collect and upcycle it into future products while offering store credits in return. Alternatively, we also offer personalised upcycling services to give it a new life, albeit recasting into the same or different product. This way, we assume responsibility for our pieces' whole life-cycle and attempt to minimise the environmental impact caused by us. Please get in touch with us via email at brambesg@gmail.com or here.
*Psst, EPR is a strategy employed by a producer to minimise environmental impact of a product by assuming responsibility of end-of-life stage. This could be employed through product design, collection, treatment and many others to reduce waste generated!
